September 24.2U24
Dear CounuUmemberHernandez,
| strongly urgeyomhoappmv the Related Bristol project onOctober 1. A project of this
size and magnitude will provide an unprecedented economic package that the city
desperately needs, and should boapproved,
VVecannot lose sight ofwhat ivat stoke. Related Bristol will generate 1G'HOD new
jobs, $608million innew tax revenue during its first 30years and m$544million
community benefits package. As part of your civic duty to vote in the best interest of
your constituents, it is imperative to prioritize the needs of the overall community and
not jeopardize the financial feasibility of the project over additional union issues,
components and other requirements.
Time is of the essence! Nearly 100 local businesses at Metro Town Square shopping
center need certainty about their future and business location. With leases for all
tenants expiring imminently and the very real prospect of a vacant retail center that is an
important generator of sales tax revenues to our City, we cannot delay this project any
further, nor jeopardize its feasibility.
Related Bristol isproposing new and improved community amenities that will enhance
and elevate the quality oflife inthis city, including:
~ 13acres ofpublicly accessible and actively programmed open space,
° $22M towards uCommunity Benefit Fund that could beused towards street
improvements, ocommunity center, oranything else the City prioritizes,
° Apublic safety office tnshorten police response times, and
~ $18K4inaffordable housing in -lieu fees.
More than ever, people want safe, secure public places to connect and build community
with family and friends. For these reasons, | support the visionary Related Bristol
project, and I urge you to approve this important, new gateway to Santa Ana for the
benefit of all.
COO u y "am
President & CEO
Goodwill ofOrange County
41ON. ui,vi° a, "cg"wdw/"rq
Santa Aria, c^92xo 714.54Z6308
l4
