September 25, 2024
Dear Honorable CityComwci|Member,
| strongly urge you toapprove the Related Bristol project onOctober 1.Aproject olthis
size and magnitude will provide an unprecedented economic package that the city
desperately needs, and should beapproved.
VYecannot lose sight nfwhat ieetstake. Related Bristol will generate 16.800now
jobs, $50Vmillion innew tax revenue during its first 30years and a $544nm|U|mn
community benefits package. As part of your civic, duty to vote in the best interest of
your constituents, it is imperative to prioritize the needs of the overall community and
not jeopardize the financial feasibility ofthe project over additional union issues,
components and other requirements.
Time is of the essence! Nearly 100local businesses at Metro Town Square shopping
center need certainty about their future and business location. With leases for all
tenants expiring imminently and the very real prospect of a vacant retail center that is an
Important generator ofsales tax revenues toour City, wecannot delay this project any
further, norjooperdizeits feasibility.
Related Bristol is proposing new and improved community amenities that will enhance
and elevate the quality oflife inthis city, !inc|uding:
° 13acres ofpublicly accessible and aotiveyyprogrammed open space,
~ $22K4towards uCommunity Benefit Fund that could beused towards, street
improvements, ecommunity center, uranything else the City prioritizes,
" Apublic safety office toshorten police response times, and
^ $18K4inaffordable housing in -lieu fees.
More than ever, people want safe, secure public places to connect and build community
with family and friends. For these reasons, | support the visionary Related Bristol
project, and I urge you to approve this Important, new gateway to Santa Ana for the
benefit of all.
Thank you,
Mira Dukes
33
