The City of West Hollywood contracted with Magellan Advisors to develop a sustainable <br /> Wireless Network Strategic Plan. The purpose of the Plan was to provide an approach <br /> to deploy a municipal wireless network that supports City and community needs. <br /> The City desires a reliable, flexible and secure wireless broadband network that <br /> leverages and develops the City's existing fiber-optic network and assets. <br /> The Plan identified and provided financial models for three opportunities for the City of <br /> West Hollywood to implement wireless broadband infrastructure: <br /> 1. Deploying Wi-Fi along special event corridors and in City parks; <br /> 2. Providing coverage in the City's commercial districts; and <br /> 3. The work led to assisting the City in applying for an getting <br /> awarded LATA funding for design engineering of the network designed during the Master Plan <br /> effort. In 2017, the City and School district signed an agreement to co-build the <br /> network. The next step was to identify a partner that understood municipal fiber projects and <br /> could manage the complex engineering process at hand, creating two networks from one. <br /> Page 10 <br />
