EXHIBIT A - SCOPE OF WORK <br />(2) <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />EXHIBIT I <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />Contractor/Consultant shall perform services as set forth below. <br />INTRODUCTION/BACKGROUND <br />The City of Santa Ana (City) intends to select up to three (3) qualified contractors to provide <br />construction services for the City's large water service vaults and meter apparatus at up to 400 <br />locations throughout the City. These services vary depending on the meter size (3" — 10"). Each <br />contractor selected will enter into a Construction Services Agreement to provide such services. <br />Throughout the term of the Construction Services Agreement, the City may request task order <br />proposals for individual projects and/or programs as the need for such services arises. <br />A separate Notice -to -Proceed (NTP) will be issued based on an agreed -upon specific scope of <br />services and fee for each task order. The Contractor may utilize in-house staff and/or sub- <br />contractors to complete each task order. For specialized work for which the prime contractor <br />shall require a sub -contractor, the prime contractor shall serve as an administrative <br />liaison between the City and the sub -contractor, and include these administrative costs <br />in their proposed project management fees. <br />Prime contractor mark-ups for sub -contractor work will not be allowed. <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />The City is currently in the process of implementing an Automated Metering Infrastructure (AMI) <br />program for water service connections in the City. The installation of meters is ongoing, however, <br />the City of Santa Ana Public Works Agency desires to engage a contractor for Large Water <br />Service Vault and Meter Apparatus Improvements. The Contractor shall provide construction <br />services including, but not limited to, rehabilitating or replacing water meter vaults, replacing <br />large water meters, replacing water meter valves and water meter apparatus appurtenances as <br />needed. <br />DESCRIPTION OF WORK <br />The Contractor will be expected to conduct a site survey of each meter location and assess <br />current field conditions of each meter assembly and apparatus prior to ordering any materials <br />necessary to complete each meter replacement. All water meter system valves and meter <br />related appurtenances shall be operable upon new meter installation. <br />The work may consist of removing the existing analog water meter and replacing with a new <br />digital smart meter per the specifications provided by the City. It may, alternatively, consist of <br />replacing additional equipment but not limited to water meter valves, spools, and fittings as <br />needed. Upon installation, the new water meter shall be configured to enable wireless <br />communication. <br />In addition, the work may consist of demolishing and removing an existing substandard water <br />
