Human Resources <br />www.santa-ana.org/human-resources <br />Item # 20 <br />City of Santa Ana <br />20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701 <br />Staff Report <br />October 15, 2024 <br />TOPIC: Property Restoration Services <br />AGENDA TITLE <br />Amendment to Agreement with Sunny Hills Associates, Inc. for Property Restoration <br />Services (Non -General Fund) <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Authorize the City Manager to execute an amendment to the agreement with Sunny <br />Hills Associates, Inc. for property restoration services to increase the not -to -exceed <br />amount by $50,000, for aggregate compensation up to $100,000, under for the term of <br />April 1, 2022 through March 31, 2026 (Agreement No. A-2024-XXX). <br />GOVERNMENT CODE §84308 APPLIES: Yes <br />DISCUSSION <br />The City currently has an existing agreement with Sunny Hills Associates, Inc. through <br />the Human Resources Department to provide property restoration and repair services to <br />City property after an incident. The current contract expires on March 31, 2026. Staff <br />recommends approval of an amendment to the agreement with Sunny Hills Associates, <br />Inc. in order to increase the total amount of the agreement by $50,000, for a total of <br />$100,000. <br />Recommendation for increase is based on year over year increase in cost of labor and <br />materials needed to remediate and restore property. As City -owned infrastructure gets <br />older, there is a greater need for on -going property remediation and restoration <br />services. <br />Services provided by vendor include cleaning up and drying out flooded property, mold <br />testing, emergency boarding of broken windows and doors, sewage extraction and <br />disinfection of affected areas, and removal of contaminated property and rebuild. The <br />contract requires Sunny Hills Associates, Inc. to pay prevailing wages. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />There is no environmental impact associated with this action. <br />
