GOVERNMENT CODE 484308 APPLIES: Yes DISCUSSION The Santa Ana Police Department has operated the Westend Substation located at 3750 W. McFadden Avenue, Suite I, for over 20 years. In April of 2021, the Police Department entered into a lease agreement with Rio Vista West, LLC for this location for a period of one year, with two one year extensions, expiring on October 31, 2024. Presently, the Police Department wishes to amend the agreement to renew the lease for one additional year through October 31, 2025. The amendment contains an option to terminate the lease, without cause, at the eighth month (June 2025), with 60-day notice. The additional year includes a 5% increase in monthly rent for a total annual amount of $38,292. The amendment is necessary to continue operation of the Westend Office pending the completion of the Santa Anita Park renovation where the Police Department Westend Substation will be moving and be co -located with the Santa Anita Santa Ana Police Athletic and Activity League. This proposed one-year lease amendment allows the Police Department to continue its Community -Oriented Policing mission at the existing location with no interruption in services for up to an additional twelve months. The amendment will cover the period of November 1, 2024 through October 31, 2025.
