FREE RECORDING PURSUANT TO <br />GOVERNMENT CODE § 27383 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2024-XX <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC RESOURCES <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING <br />HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION APPLICATION NO. <br />2024-07 TO PLACE THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1113 <br />WEST RIVIERA DRIVE, SANTA ANA, ON THE HISTORICAL <br />REGISTER AND APPROVING HISTORIC REGISTER <br />CATEGORIZATION NO. 2024-05 PLACING SAID <br />PROPERTY WITHIN THE CONTRIBUTIVE CATEGORY <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The Historic Resources Commission of the City of Santa Ana hereby <br />finds, determines, and declares as follows: <br />A. On September 5, 2024, the Historic Resources Commission held a duly <br />noticed public hearing for the placement on the Santa Ana Register of <br />Historical Properties (Historic Resources Commission Application No. <br />2024-07) and categorization (Historic Resources Commission <br />Categorization No. 2024-05) of the Buckheim House located at 1113 West <br />Riviera Drive, Santa Ana. <br />B. The Buckheim House is a good example of the Ranch style and was built <br />in 1956. <br />C. The Buckheim House qualifies for listing in the Santa Ana Register of <br />Historical Properties under Criterion 1 as an intact example of Ranch -style <br />home in Santa Ana. The house displays characteristics of the Ranch style <br />through its use of smooth varied exterior wall surfaces, including board -and - <br />batten, fieldstone veneer, and stucco; asymmetrical fagade with recessed <br />porch, and wood -casement windows; among other original features. The <br />recommended categorization is "Contributive" because it is a good example <br />of the Ranch style and contributes to the historic and architectural character <br />of its neighborhood (Santa Ana Municipal Code, Section 30-2.2). Character - <br />defining features of the Buckheim House include, but may not be limited to: <br />generally rectangular plan; asymmetrical primary fagade at the south; <br />moderate -pitch hipped roof with wood shake shingles; broad roof overhang; <br />board -and -batten, stucco, and fieldstone veneer exterior cladding; <br />fieldstone -veneer -clad chimney, integrated planter, and blade wall; wood <br />casement windows; recessed front (south) entrance with fieldstone veneer <br />and board -and -batten cladding; detached garage; covered walkway linking <br />residence and garage and featuring a gable roof shelter with exposed <br />trusswork; front yard lawn with landscaping including mature trees and <br />Resolution No. 2024-XX <br />Page 1 of 7 <br />
