307 <br />cls:9-07-90 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2000-062 <br />THE RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITE' <br />OF SANTA ANA ESTABLISHING THE SOUTH METRO <br />PERMIT PARKING DISTRICT <br />BE 1T RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTAâ–º ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby, finds, determines <br />and declares as follows: <br />A. Section 22507 of the Vehicle Code of the State of California authorizes a city <br />to prohibit stopping, parking or standing of vehicles on certain streets and to <br />establish a permit system exempting residents, merchants and guests from <br />the prohibition. <br />B. Pursuant to Article X1 (commencing with Section 3 -480) of Chapter 36 of <br />the Santa Ana Municipal Cade, (hereinafter "Article I") the City Council of <br />the City of Santa Ana is authorized to adopt a resolution establishing Permit <br />Parking Districts wherein parking restrictions apply to all vehicles except <br />vehicles which have been issued parking permits pursuant to said Article. <br />C The South Metro residential neighborhood is in need of parking restrictions <br />to protect its integrity from the intrusion of vehicular parking incidentai to <br />commercial and governmental activities, to allow for adequate emergency <br />vehicle access, to counter the visually blighting effect of highly intensive on - <br />street parking, and to discourage overcrowding of dwelling units. <br />SECTION 2: The South Metro Permit Parking District is hereby established, to <br />consist of that area of the City of Santa Ana generally bounded on the north by warner <br />Avenue, can the east by Bristol Street, on the south by Sunflower Avenue and City limits, <br />and on the west by Fairview Street, as more particularly depicted in Exhibit 1, attached <br />hereto and incorporated herein by reference. <br />SECTION 3: The parking restrictions imposed pursuant to Article XI and this <br />Resolution shall apply to any block within the South Metro Permit Parking District only <br />after a petition signed by the owners of sixty-six percent (66%) or more of the residential <br />lots abutting such block have filed a petition with the Executive Director of the Public <br />Works Agency expressing their desire for such parking restrictions, and after signs <br />indicating the parking restrictions on such block have been erected in accordance with <br />Article XI. <br />SECTION 4: No person shall park any vehicle at any time on any portion of any <br />street within the South Metro Permit Parking District as to which signs have been erected <br />Resolution No. 2000-062 <br />Exhibit 17 Page 1 of 3 <br />
