jmf 2/12/2020 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2020-021 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA AMENDING RESOLUTION 1991-088 <br />RELATED TO THE SOUTH COAST PERMIT PARKING <br />DISTRICT FOR THE PURPOSE OF EXPANDING THE <br />BOUNDARIES OF THAT DISTRICT <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines <br />and declares as follows: <br />A. Pursuant to Article XI (commencing with Section 36-480) of Chapter 36 of the <br />Santa Ana Municipal Code, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana is <br />authorized to adopt resolutions establishing permit parking districts in which <br />parking restrictions apply to all vehicles except those vehicles that have been <br />issued parking permits pursuant to such Article. <br />B. By Resolution No. 1991-088, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana <br />established the South Coast Permit Parking District, as shown on Exhibit 1, <br />attached hereto and incorporated by reference. <br />C. Owners of properties on residential streets near the South Coast Permit <br />Parking District have noted a lack of available parking on their streets and have <br />asked to participate in the City's permit parking program. <br />D. To accommodate the present and any future requests, the City Council now <br />wishes to expand the South Coast Permit Parking District to include these <br />areas. <br />Section 2. Section 1 of Resolution 1991-088 is hereby amended to expand the <br />South Coast Permit Parking District to consist in its entirety of the existing and proposed <br />areas delineated on Exhibit 1, attached hereto and incorporated by reference. <br />Section 3, Section 4 of Resolution 1991-088 is hereby amended to permit the <br />Executive Director of the Public Works Agency, or his or her designee, to waive the <br />limitation therein on the number of permits and dwelling units on a lot if he or she <br />determines that its application in a particular case would cause extreme hardship on the <br />residents of such dwelling units due to a severe inadequacy of on -site parking. <br />Resolution No. 2020-021 <br />Page I of 3 <br />Exhibit 17 <br />
