RESOLUTION NO. 61-296 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA REQUSSTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PRO(~AM THE DEVELOP~NT OF FIRST STREET RAILROAD GRADE SEPARATION. WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ann desires to construct a railroad grade separation on First Street at the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe and Southern Pacific Railroad crossings, and WHEREAS, First Street is an important artery in the County of Orange and of general County interest, and WHEREAS, Article 2 and 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improvement, construction or repair of a street within a City, and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appropriate action, provide in the County budget of the Special Road Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year 1962-63 a sum of money for the improvement of streets within the incorporated cities of the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway Financing Program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED~ That the Council of the City of Santa Ann hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate to said City from County Funds the amount of $257,639.40, said amount to be matched by funds from said City, to be used to aid said City in the acquisition of necessary rights of way and separation structure construction on First Street at the crossings of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe and Southern Pacific Railroad trackS; said acquisition of rights of way and construction to be in accordance with the attached project statement; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVEDt That the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said acquisition of rights of way on Edinger Street, in the manner provided, is in the general County interest.
