RESOLUTION NO. 61-296 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA REQUSSTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE <br />TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY <br />FINANCING PRO(~AM THE DEVELOP~NT OF FIRST <br />STREET RAILROAD GRADE SEPARATION. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ann desires to construct a railroad grade <br />separation on First Street at the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe and Southern <br />Pacific Railroad crossings, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, First Street is an important artery in the County of Orange <br /> <br />and of general County interest, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Article 2 and 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the Streets and <br />Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so desires, to expend funds apportioned <br />to it out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the <br />improvement, construction or repair of a street within a City, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appropriate action, <br />provide in the County budget of the Special Road Improvement Fund for the <br />Fiscal Year 1962-63 a sum of money for the improvement of streets within the <br />incorporated cities of the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial <br />Highway Financing Program. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED~ That the Council of the City of Santa <br />Ann hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate <br />to said City from County Funds the amount of $257,639.40, said amount to be matched <br />by funds from said City, to be used to aid said City in the acquisition of <br />necessary rights of way and separation structure construction on First Street <br />at the crossings of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe and Southern Pacific Railroad <br />trackS; said acquisition of rights of way and construction to be in accordance <br />with the attached project statement; <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVEDt That the Board of Supervisors of the County of <br />Orange is hereby requested to find that said acquisition of rights of way on <br />Edinger Street, in the manner provided, is in the general County interest. <br /> <br /> <br />
