Ibarra, Evelyn
From:
Hall, Jennifer
Sent:
Monday, October 28, 2024 10:01 AM
To:
eComment
Subject:
FW: Character Reference for Councilman Johnathan Hernandez
From: Nati Alvarado <nati.aIva rado@ngservices.org>
Sent: Monday, October 28, 2024 9:17 AM
To: Hall, Jennifer <jhall@santa-ana.org>
Subject: Character Reference for Councilman Johnathan Hernandez
Attention: This email originated from outside of City of Santa Ana. Use caution when opening attachments or links.
Dear Ms. Hall,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to offer my full support and a character reference for
Councilman Johnathan Hernandez of Santa Ana's Ward 5. As Pastor of The Life Center Church and Executive
Director of Neutral Ground, I have had the privilege of working closely with Johnathan on various community
initiatives, and I have seen firsthand his dedication to serving with integrity and purpose.
Since our partnership began, we have collaborated with Johnathan on impactful programs such as the first
Summer Night Lights in 2016 and every year since, gang prevention and intervention programming, and the
first Chicano Heritage Festival. Johnathan's involvement in these events has always centered on uplifting and
empowering our community, with no personal agenda other than to serve. His contributions to these initiatives
have been invaluable, fostering a safer, more connected environment for the people of Santa Ana.
Johnathan's work has always been motivated by his Chicano heritage and his deep-rooted commitment to Santa
Ana's history and people. When we reached out to him for support, we did so because he represents our shared
values and dedication to this city. We did not anticipate any conflict; we simply knew Johnathan was the right
person to help us push forward on our mission.
Though recent inquiries have raised concerns about his involvement in community events, I can say with
complete confidence that his actions have consistently been in good faith. Johnathan's role has always been one
of support, without overstepping boundaries, as he has worked tirelessly to strengthen the planning and success
of each event. His commitment to Santa Ana's well-being has been evident in every step he's taken with us.
I am proud to work alongside Councilman Hernandez and am deeply grateful for his continued dedication to
our community. Please feel free to contact me if you'd like to discuss this further.
Best,
