A-2024-171 <br />SECOND AMENDMENT TO THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br />BETWEEN <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />F,11Ui1 <br />OCT 2 9 A24 CONFIDENTIAL ASSOCIATION OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />0 : N Q- I of FOR THE TERM JULY 1, 2022 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2025 <br />Danit l 0,rham(KF) <br />This Second Amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") is entered iut on <br />October 15, 2024, by and between the City of Santa Ana, a charter city and municipal corporation <br />organized and existing under the Constitution and the laws of the State of California ("City) and <br />the Confidential Association of the City of Santa Ana ("CASA") a recognized employee <br />bargaining unit (collectively "Parties'. <br />RECITALS <br />WHEREAS, the Parties have entered into an MOU with a term of July 1, 2022 through <br />Jame 30, 2025; <br />WHEREAS, on December 5, 2023, the Parties entered into a First Amendment of the MOU <br />amending Section 9.7 and 9.8(C) regarding payment for employees who are required to work <br />during the holiday closure; and <br />WHEREAS, the Parties now wish to modify Article 10.0 of their MOU as set forth below. <br />THE PARTIES THEREFORE AGREE as follows (additions are underlined and deletions <br />are stricken); <br />1. Article 10.0. Section 10.2 ( ) to amend the language as follows: <br />F, Vacation Euv-Back. <br />1. Through December 31 2023 <br />Employees are eligible to require the City to buyback up to eighty (80) <br />hours of their banked vacation per calendar year. <br />2. Effective January 1 2024 and continuing every year thereafter <br />a. If an employee wants to cash -out unused vacation leave they <br />accrued during the calendar year, they must make an irrevocable <br />election by December 15th of the prior calendar year (Le. by <br />December 15, 2023 for a cash -out in calendar year 2024). <br />
