On <br /> motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, the <br /> <br /> petition was received, filed and referred to the Council as a whole. <br /> . <br /> Communication was read from Santa Aha Board of Realtors favoring the <br /> rezoning of Area designated as "C" for Industrial Eoning and n~t~ <br /> <br />favoring the rezoning of Area designated as "A" lying south of Delhi <br />Road and west of Main Street. On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded <br />b,y Larsen and carried, the petition was filed and referred to the CouDell <br /> as a whole. <br />A petition was read signed by twenty-three residents and property owners <br />requesting that four automatic traffic signals be installed at the <br />intersection of West Fourth and Ross Streets, and on motion of <br />Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, the request was <br />referred to the committee on curb usage.~cr report. <br /> <br />On ~otion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, the <br />request of Howard D. Baker, D.D.S. for a white lo~ding zone at 711 <br /> <br />West 17th Street, was referred to the committee on curb usage for <br /> <br /> report. <br /># <br />Communication was read from the Orange County Water District requesting <br />that a representative of the City of Santa Ana be designated to serve <br />on the Orange County Water District Board and on motion of Councilman <br />Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, Mayor Courtney R. chandler was~ <br /> <br /> tentatively designated as the representative of the City. <br /> # <br />Communication was read from George E. Bradley, Attorney for the Black <br />and Green Cab Company requesting an extension of the permit to use two <br />metered stalls for a taxicab stand at 316 Bush Street until August 1sti <br />1953. On motion of Councilman Larsen, seconded by McBride and <br />carried, ~he request was granted until August 1st, 1953 with the pro- <br />vision that no further extensions will be permitted. <br /> <br />Communication was read from the Board of Trustees of the First Christian <br />Church reference variance application of Samuel J. and Mary Stronge <br />and Helen B. Smith stating that the Church agrees to all the terms <br />and provisions as set out in the .action taken by the Council at meet- <br />ing held June 1st, 1953. On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by <br /> <br />Larsen and carried, the communication was received and filed. <br /># <br />Communication was read from Bethene Schroeder stating she is intereste~ <br />in purchasing the la~ge city owned lot located at the end of North <br />Baker Street, which property is used by the City for the storing of <br />supplies, pipes, etc. On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by <br />Jerome and carried, the communication was receive~, filed and Clerk <br />instructed to advise Mrs. Schroeder that the City is not interested in <br /> <br />selling any portion of the property. <br />. <br />Communications were read from W.R.Wilson, 2315 Valencia Street and <br />Mrs. Ernest Dunn, 1416 West Washington Avenue, protesting the mannel. <br />in which the trash is collected and on motion of Councilman Dahl, <br /> <br /> <br />
