Council Chamber Santa Ana City Hall August 3, !953. 7:30 P.M. City Council met in regular session. Meeting called to order by the Mayor. Present: Absent: Councilmen Councilmen William Jerome, J.L.McBride, Thomas F. Larsen, Milford W. Courtney R. Chandler. None Dahl, Each member of the City Council having received copies of the Minutes of July 20, 1953, reading of the Minutes was dispensed with and approved on motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, with the exception of Item 52 on page 4.33 that the wording "through at right angle" be corrected to "drawn parallel". In Re Bids Const. storm sewer on Myrtle St. from Maple to Main Sts. On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by D~I and carried, the Clerk was authorized to open bids for the construction of a 24" R.C. pipe storm sewer on Myrtle Street from Maple Street to Main Street, as follows: Bid of W. C. Rados: Bond in Grand total $17,$86.00. Bid of The Stanfield Company: Grand total $22,062.90. the emu of 10~. Bond in the sum of Bid of Nick M. Guho: Bond in the sum of 10~ Grand total $21,381.75. On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Larsen and carried, the bids were referred to the City Manager and Engineer for report at this In Re Bids 1,000 water meters meeting. On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Larsen and carried, the Clerk was authorized to open bids for the furnishing of 1,000 water meters, 5/8" x 3/4", without connections, reading in cubic feet, bronze composition main casings, complying with standard adopted by the AVfWA, as follows: Bid of Neptune Meter Company: Certified check in the sum of $2,200.00 accompanied bid'. 1,OOO 5/8" x 3/4" Trident Split-Case water meters without connections $21.60 each or a total for the 1,O00 meters of $21,600. Price excludes local or state taxes. Delivery to be as set out in the Notice Inviting Sealed Proposals. Bid of Horsey Manufocturing Company: Certified check in the sum of ~2,160.00. 1,000 - 5/8" x 3/4" Her~ey Disc Meters, Model HD, without connections $21.60 each net. Terms net 30 days. Price does not include California State Sales Tax. Delivery to be as set out in the Notice Inviting Sealed Proposals. Bid of Mission Pipe and Supply Company: Certified check in the sum of $2,128.00. 1,000 5/8 x 3/4" Rockwell --Pittsburg "Tropic" water meters, round reading in cubic feet, less connections, $21.28 each, $21,280.00. Terms net thirty days f.o.b. Santa Ana. Delivery as required and stated. Sales tax not included. Worthington-Gamon Meter Division: Bond ~n the sum of 25oo.oo. t,000 - 5/8 X 3/~" Watch Dog split case meters less connections at $21.07 each, Total $21,070.00. 3% California tax to be added.
