RESOLUTION NO. 60-8~ ADOPTING AND APPROVING THE <br />RECOM/~ENDATIONS OF THE SANTA ANA PLANNING COMMIS- <br />SION FOR ZONING PROTECTION IN AREAS NORTHEAST OF <br />SANTA ANA PRESENTLY KNOWN AS "SEVENTEENTH AND <br />WRIGHT STREETS N.E. ANNEX". <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Aha, <br />California has long believed that the areas Northeast of Santa <br />Ana should be afforded an opportunity for development which <br />would permit the highest and best use of said land without im- <br />posing the excessive costs of large sanitation district trunk <br />sewers to the treatment plant near the mouth of the Santa Ana <br />River and the excessive costs of sanitary districts to provide <br />and maintain local collecting lines and trunks; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said City Council,after study, concluded that the <br />majority of said area would logically develop as a high quality <br />residenti~l area for estate-type homes with adequate land area <br />for each home and that said area should be protected from sub- <br />standard development that might reduce land values and that said <br />area should have available to it services of the highest caliber <br />because of the expected and logical quality use that will ulti- <br />mately be made of such land; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, high quality services at low cost will greatly <br />increase land values and insure a desirable use of said land; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, because of these facts said City Council has re- <br />quested the Santa Ana Planning Commission to study said area and <br />recommend to said council Zoning Classification suggested for <br />said area to preserve land values and insure orderly development, <br />and such recommendations have now been received, considered and <br />approved. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of <br />the City of Santa Ana approves the recommendations of the Planning <br />Commission which are practically identical to the corresponding <br /> <br /> <br />
