It is of significant
historical importance. Yet this proposed construction has somehow skipped review by
the city's Historic Resources Commission. It's also a Mills Act property which means
that the owners cannot alter the site without approval by the Commission.
I suspect that approval of this without approval by the Historic Resources
Commissions puts the city in a very vulnerable and litigious legal position as well as
setting a very dangerous precedent. Regardless of its dubious aesthetics and how it
impacts the neighboring community, this simply cannot be approved without approval
by the Commission.
Marc LaFont
1816 N.
