RESOLUTION NO.60-101 AUTHORIZING PETITION TO THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF ORANGE COUNTY REQUESTING THAT PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA BE EXCEPTED FROM THE LEVY OF ANY ORANGE COUNTY TAX TO PROVIDE STRUCTURAL FIRE PROTECTION WHEREAS, the City of Santa Aha is a Municipal Corporation now existing as such by virtue of a charter granted under the laws of the State of California and said City lies in the County of Orange in the State of California; and WHEREAS, said City of Santa Ana does now provide adequate structural fire protection to all property within the corporate limits of said City by maintaining a Fire Department of acknowledged excel- lence, modernly equipped and staffed with competent well-trained,.per- sonnel under outstanding leadership and which said Department has available to it a water system with adequate reserves maintained at very high pressure circulated through large trunk mains all in excel- lent condition, which has resulted in a lower rate than any other area in said County presently enjoys; and WHEREAS, Government Code Section 25643 provides for a petition supported by a Resolution to result in property within an area, such as the City of Santa Aha, to be excepted from the levy of any tax by a County for the purpose of structural fire protection. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Santa Aha hereby authorizes and directs that a petition be presented to the Honorable Board of Supervisors of Orange County, California, supported by a certified copy of this Resolution, as pro- vided for in Government Code Section 25643, petitioning said Board to exclude all property within the City of Santa Ana and to except the same from the levy of any tax for the pu=pose of structural fire protection which may be levied for the fiscal year of 1960-61. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That said City Council hereby finds and declares that the statements made in this Resolution are true and correct.
