RE~OLUTION NO. 60-]08 COMM~NDING AND EXTENDING OFFICIAL R~COGNITION BY THE CITY OF SANTA ANA TO THE SANTA ANA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE. WHEREAS, the Santa Ana Chamber of C~,~erce has for several years been re-evaluating its activities and modifying and redirecting its interests to create a Chamber of Commerce program that could be truly representative of the principal commercial city in the most rapidly growing county in the United States of America~ and WHEREAS, this new program, designed to benefit not only the City of Santa Aha, but Orange County, has been functioning with in- creasing success so that the program has come to the attention of the United States Chamber of Commerce, and resulted in ~'~ AWAP~ OF ~4ERIT to the Santa Aha Chamber of Commerce. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: By the City Council of the City of Santa Aha,speaking for the official family, the citizens, merchants and lndust=ialists of the City of Santa Aha, that the Santa Ana Chamber of Commerce, its members, officers and staff are hereby co~mnended upon the fine work done during the calendar year of 1959, which resulted in the AWARD OF MERIT just presented to the Santa Aha Chamber of Commerce by the United States Chamber of Commerce; which said AWARD OF MERIT was given for the well balanced and productive program carried on by the Santa Ana Chamber of Commerce during the calendar year of 1959. This recognition, awarded only to, thirty-one of the 3500 local Chambem of Commerce in the United S~ates of America, recognizes that the Santa Aha Chamber of Co~mnerce now stands safely in the top 1% of all Chambers of Commerce in this country. We hereby congratulate and express appreciation to all of the men who have made this recognition for outstanding service a reality~ PASSED AND ADOPT~.n by the City Council of the City of Santa Aha at its regular meeting held on the 6th dayOf June, 1960.
