Kilgore Un motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by La, sen and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission was approved and variance granted to Buffumss to permit use of the property at the northeast corner of Tenth and Main Streets and lll-ll? East Tenth Street, for parkingpurposes. Attorney Jack Rimel presented petitions with 1401 signatures of citizens, residents and tax payers requesting the Council to take immediate action to close and barricade Flower Street at both sides of its &ntersection with Santa Ana Boulevard and that a hearing date be set on the matter. On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Lateen and carried, the petitions were received, filed and November 2nd, 1953 designated as the date of hearing. . On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission was approved and variance gu-anted to RudyE. Rogers to construct a storage warehouse at the northeast corner of King Street and the Pacific Electric Railway. # On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Lateen and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission was approved and variance granted to Park Lane Estates to permit a reduction in the front set- back to 55 feet, placement of two 8~x10~ signs on two lots and eight 2~x3' signs on eight lots in Tract No. 1824 located at the corner of Memor-y Lane and Flower Street, subject to the condition that signs shall remain until the property is sold but not to exceed a period of one year. # On motion of Councilman Larsen, seconded by Jerome and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission was approved and variance denied to Virgil S. Isbell to operate small business as plastering contractor, store excess materials and park two trucks within a board fence at 1904 Valencia Street. .
