Public Works Agency <br />www.santa-ana.org/pw <br />Item # 14 <br />City of Santa Ana <br />20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701 <br />Staff Report <br />August 16, 2022 <br />TOPIC: On -Call Construction Services <br />AGENDA TITLE <br />Approve Agreements with Crosstown Electrical & Data, Inc. and California Professional <br />Engineering, Inc. for On -call Construction Services for up to a Three-year Term in an <br />Aggregate Amount Not to Exceed $2,500,000 (Non -General Fund) <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Authorize the City Manager to execute agreements with Crosstown Electrical & Data, Inc. <br />and California Professional Engineering, Inc. to provide on -call construction services for <br />traffic signals, street lights, and concrete wheelchair ramps for a three-year period <br />beginning August 16, 2022 and ending on June 30, 2025, with provisions for two, 1-year <br />extensions, in a total aggregate amount not to exceed $2,500,000, subject to non - <br />substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Public Works Agency is in need of a contractor to assist staff by performing on -call <br />construction services consisting of the repair and/or installation of traffic signals, <br />streetlights, concrete wheel chair ramps, and/or other infrastructure within the public right- <br />of-way. <br />On September 30, 2021, the Public Works Agency issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) <br />for contractors to provide on -call construction services for traffic signals, streetlights, and <br />concrete wheelchair ramps. Due to a low response, the RFP was re -advertised on March <br />21, 2022 on the City's online bid management and publication system, with bids due on <br />April 19, 2022. Forty prospective contractors downloaded the project documents. Three <br />proposals were received and evaluated by a selection committee based on criteria as <br />outlined in the RFP.
