RESOLUTION NO. 60-175 COMMENDING MR. BOB <br />WEBSTER FOR HIS OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE IN <br />WINNING FIRST PLACE IN THE OLYMPIC COMPETITION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Bob Webster, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Webster <br />of 1719 South Ross Street, Santa Aha, California, and a former <br />student of Santa Ana High School and Santa Ana College, has, <br />through constant training and thousands of hours of work, per- <br />fected himself in the skill of diving; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the excellence, precision, grace and perfect <br />timing of his diving skill enabled him to place on the United <br />States Olympic Team to be sent to Rome, Italy, and there to <br />represent the United States in the international competition; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, as a result of this competition with the world's <br />greatest divers, Bob Webster won first place in the 10-meter tower <br />dive, bringing fame and satisfaction to himself, his family and <br />country, and bringing recognition to the City of Santa Ana and <br />the University of Michigan, where he is now commencing his Senior <br />year of college study. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA: That Bob webster, a Gold Medal winner for <br />first place in the 10-meter tower dive during the 1960 Olympic <br />international contests, be and is hereby ccmxmended for his splen- <br />did performance and for the many hours of work and training that <br />resulted in this great accomplishment. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City of Santa Ana is <br />happy to have been the City of his youth and to have contributed <br />to his adolescent years and is now proud to have him as a legal <br />resident of this City. <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa <br /> <br />Ana at its regular meeting held on the 6th day of_~eptember, 1960. <br />ATTEST: ~ '~ , <br /> <br /> ~ ~,.~ ~5 :., ~: (SEAL) ~-- <br />C~ERK OF THE-COUNCIL <br /> <br /> /~ <br /> <br /> <br />
