RESOLUTION 66-119 AUTHORIZING CONDEMNATION OF <br />EASEMENTS FOR STREET PURPOSES FOR THE WIDENING <br />OF EIGHTH STREET FROM FAIRVIEW STREET TO 560 FEET <br />WEST OF BRISTOL STREET <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the rapid expansion of the Civic Center area of the <br />City of Santa Ana and the continuing increase in east-west traffic <br />volume has made it necessary to widen Eighth Street to provide for <br />the present and prospective demands of said increasing traffic; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the <br />City of Santa Ana does hereby find and determine that the public <br />interest and necessity require that Eighth Street be widened on the <br />north and south sides from Fairview Street to a point 560 feet west <br />of Bristol Street and does require that said City do have and acquire <br />easementf for street purposes in, over, through, and across certain <br />real property in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of <br />California, said easements being described as follows: <br /> <br />~ARCEL 1: <br /> <br />An easement for street purposes over the Northerly 15.00 <br />feet of the Southerly 40.00 feet of the West 55.00 feet <br />of the East 355.00 feet of the South 200.00 feet of the <br />following: <br /> <br />Beginning at an iron pin 517.20 feet West of old corner stake, <br />an iron pin in the center of Eighth Street (formerly Hickey <br />Street) and Hawley Street; thence North 850.26 feet to iron <br />pin; thence West 277.00 feet to iron pin at grant line in <br />the center of King Street; thence South 27½° West 948.30 <br />feet to iron pin in the center of Eighth Street (formerly <br />Hickey Street); thence 711.80 feet to the point of <br />beginning. <br /> <br />~..ARCEL 2: <br /> <br />An easement for street purposes over the Northerly 15.00 <br />feet of the Southerly 40.00 feet of the West 76.00 feet of <br />the East 180.00 feet of the South 200.00 feet of that <br />portion of the land allotted to Jacob Ross in decree of <br />partition of the Rancho Santiago de Santa Ana, recorded <br />in Book A of Judgments of the 17th Judicial District Court <br />of Los Angeles County, California, described as follows: <br /> <br />Beginning at an iron pin 517.20 feet West of the old corner <br />stake and iron pin at the center line intersection of Eighth <br />Street (formerly Hickey Street) and Hawley Street; thence <br />North 850.26 feet to an iron pin; thence West 277.00 feet <br />to an iron pin on the grant line and center line of King <br />Street; thence South 27° 30' 00" West 948.03 feet to an <br />iron pin at its intersection with the said center line of <br />Eighth Street; thence East 711.08 feet to the point of <br />beginning. <br /> <br />PARCEL 3: <br /> <br />An Easement for street purposes over the North 15.00 feet <br />of the South 40.00 feet of the West 52.00 feet of the East <br />104.00 feet of the South 200.00 feet of that portion of <br />land allotted to Jacob Ross in decree of partition of the <br />Rancho Santiago de Santa Ana, recorded in Book B of <br />Judgmentsjof the 17th Judicial District Court of Los Angeles <br />County, California, described as follows: <br /> <br />Beginning at an iron pin 517.20 feet W~st of an old corner <br />sta~e and iron pin in the center of Eighth Street (formerly <br />Hickey Street) and Hawley Street; thence North 850.26 feet <br />to an iron pin; thence West 277.00 feet to an iron pin on <br />the Grant line in the center of King Street; thence South <br />27° 13' West 948.30 feet to an iron pin in the center line <br />of Eighth Street (formerly Hickey Street); thence East <br />717.15 feet to the point of beginning. <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
