RESOLUTION 66-139 AUTHORIZING CONDEMNATION OF <br />REAL PROPERTY SOUTH OF SIXTH STREET BETWEEN <br />PARTON AND VAN NESS STREETS FOR CIVIC CENTER <br />PURPOSES <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, because of the rapid population growth in the entire <br />area of Orange County and in the City of Santa Aha, California, there <br />is an immediate and present need to acquire land for expansion and <br />development of the area known as the Civic Center for the location of <br />public buildings, structures and related utilities. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the <br />City of Santa Ana does hereby find and declare that public interest <br />and necessity require the acquisition of fee title in and to certain <br />real property and an easement for alley purposes appurtenant thereto. <br />Said properties lie within an area bounded on the north by Sixth <br />Street, on the south by Fifth Street, on the West by Parton Street, <br />and on the east by Van Ness Street in the City of Santa Ana, County <br />of Orange, State of California, and are more particularly described <br />as follows: <br /> <br />PARCEL 1: <br /> <br />Lot 9 of Block C of Ross Addition to Santa Aha, in the <br />City of Santa Ana, as shown on a map thereof recorded <br />in Book 3, pages 534 and 535, Miscellaneous Records of <br />Los Angeles County, California. <br /> <br />PARCEL 2: <br /> <br />An easement over the North 10 feet of Lot 10 of Block C <br />of Ross Addition to Santa Ana, in the City of Santa Ana, <br />as shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 3, pages 534 <br />and 535, Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, <br />California, for alley purposes, which easement is to be <br />used jointly with the owners of Lots 9 and 10 in said <br />Block C. <br /> <br />PARCEL 3: <br /> <br />Lot 4 in Block C of Ross Addition to Santa Ana, in the <br />City of Santa Ana, as shown on a map thereof recorded <br />in Book 3, pages 534 and 535, Miscellaneous Records of <br />Los Angeles County, California. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: <br /> <br /> 1. That the City Attorney is hereby ordered to bring an action <br />in the name of the City to condemn said property necessary to be taken <br />and to do all things necessary to prosecute said action to final <br />determination; <br /> <br /> 2. That said public improvement is planned and located in a <br />manner which will be most compatible with the greatest public good <br />and the least private injury; <br /> <br /> 3. That the City of Santa Ana is authorized, empowered, and <br />required to provide for public buildings and public grounds; <br /> <br /> 4.
