RESOLUTION 66-145 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA SUPPORTING LOCAL CONTROL OF <br />ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE LICENSING <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Assembly Committee on Governmental Organization <br />is studying the broad problem of the present state provisions <br />relating to alcoholic beverages; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is becoming increasingly more apparent that the <br />present provisions, as presently administered, cannot possibly take <br />into account many of the strictly local problems involved in <br />licensing particular persons and locations; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in the event of a revision of the laws relating to <br />liquor control, it would be highly beneficial to local authorities <br />to be permitted a greater role in the licensing aspects thereof; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of <br />the City of Santa Aha recommends to the Assembly Committee on <br />Governmental Organization that, in its deliberations and subsequent <br />recommendations to the Assembly, it seriously consider the investing <br />in local municipal authorities a greater discretionary role upon the <br />question of locations and persons to which and to whom licenses for <br />the sale of alcoholic beverages shall be granted or transferred; and <br />that local municipal authorities not be preempted from passing and <br />enforcing legislation augmenting or supplementing, as local needs <br />appear, the State provisions. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa <br />Ana at its regular meeting held on the 7th day of November, 1966. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />CLERK OF THE COUNCIL <br /> <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA) <br />COUNTY OF ORANGE ) <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA ) <br /> <br />SS <br /> <br /> I, DORIS M.
