RESOLUTION 67-41 AUTHORIZING CONDEMNATION OF <br />AN EASEME~ FOR STREET PURPOSES AT THE NORTH- <br />WEST CORNER OF SEVENTEENTH AND SANTIAGO STREETS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in order to provide for a more orderly flow of <br />traffic on Seventeenth Street in the City of Santa Aha it has <br />become necessary to widen and improve said street from Broadway <br />east to Santiago Street; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of <br />the City of Santa Ana does hereby find and declare that the public <br />interest and necessity require that Seventeenth Street be widened <br />and improved from Broadway east to Santiago Street to provide for <br />a more orderly flow of east-west traffic, and further require that <br />said City do have, take, and acquire for street purposes that <br />certain real property in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, <br />State of California, described as: <br /> <br />PARCEL 1: An Easement for street purposes over the <br />Northerly 10.00 feet of the Southerly 50.00 feet of <br />that portion of the Dericot Tract in the Glassell <br />and Chapman Allotment of the Rancho Santiago de Santa <br />Aha in Section 6, Township 5 South, Range 9 West, <br />described as follows: <br /> <br />Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of <br />East Seventeenth Street, 60 feet wide, with the <br />centerline of Santiago Avenue (formerly "C" Street, <br />60 feet wide); thence Northerly along the centerline <br />of Santiago Avenue, 140 feet; thence Westerly parallel <br />with the North line of said Seventeenth Street, 371 <br />feet; thence South, parallel with the centerline of <br />Santiago Avenue, 140 feet to the centerline of said <br />Seventeenth Street, 60 feet wide, thence Easterly <br />along the centerline of said Seventeenth Street, 371 <br />feet to the point of beginning. <br /> <br />Excepting therefrom the Westerly 180.00 feet; also <br />excepting therefrom the Easterly 30.00 feet. <br /> <br />PARCEL 2: An Easement for street purposes over that <br />portion of the Dericot Tract in the Glassell and <br />Chapman Allotment of the Rancho de Santa Aha in <br />Section 6, Township 5 South, Range 9 West, described <br />as follows: <br /> <br />A spandrel shaped parcel of land bounded Easterly by <br />the Northerly prolongation of the Easterly line of <br />Parcel 1 above; bounded Southerly by the Northerly <br />line of Parcel 1 above; and bounded Northwesterly by <br />the arc of a curve concave Northwesterly having a <br />radius of 25.00 feet and being tangent to said East <br />and South Boundaries. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTItER RESOLVED: <br /> <br /> 1. That the City Attorney is hereby ordered to bring an <br />action in the name of the City of Santa Ana to condemn said prop- <br />erty necessary to be taken and to do all things necessary to prose- <br />cute said action to final determination; <br /> <br /> 2. That the public interest, necessity, and convenience <br />require, and it is hereby ordered, that said city take immediate <br />possession and use of the property herein ordered to be acquired <br />upon compliance with the requirements of law applicable thereto <br />as a right of way for public use; <br /> <br /> <br />
