RESOLUTION 67-46 STATING AND DECLARING THE RESULT
<br />OF THE CANVASS OF ELECTION RETURNS OF TEE GENERAL
<br />MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF SANTA ANA,
<br />CALIFORNIA, ON APRIL 4TH, 1967
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, by
<br />Ordinance NS-866,duly called for and provided for the holding
<br />of a General Municipal Election on April 4th, 1967, and, by
<br />Ordinance NS-865, duly called and provided for the holding of
<br />a Special Election in consolidation with said General Municipal
<br />Election; said elections were called to submit four propositions
<br />to the voters and to fill vacancies in public offices; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, notice of said Election, notice of nominees for public
<br />office, notice of measu.res to be voted on, and notice of the election
<br />officers and polling places were regularly given in time, form and
<br />manner as provided by law; the sample ballots, together with copies
<br />of the propositions and all arguments in favor of and against the
<br />propositions, and the statements submitted by the candidates for
<br />public office, were regularly mailed to all electors within the City,
<br />and sample ballots were mailed to those electors outside of the city
<br />but within the Santa Ana Uhified and Junior College Districts; and
<br />said Election on said date was duly held at the polling places
<br />designated and the votes cast thereat were canvassed and the returns
<br />thereof made in the time~ manner, and form provided by law; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, On the llth day of April, 1967, the City Council of
<br />the City of Santa Ana has duly assembled at its usual place of
<br />meeting, the returns of said Election having been canvassed.

<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES
<br />HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE, AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
<br />
<br /> That the General Municipal Election was duly held on April 4th,
<br />1967, and the votes cast thereat were duly and regularly canvassed
<br />and the returns thereof made in the time, form, and manner required;
<br />that all things were regularly done as required by law; that the
<br />absent voter ballots were duly canvassed and counted as required by
<br />law and the result of such count is hereinafter set forth on Exhibit A
<br />attached hereto and made a part hereof; that this City Council has
<br />duly canvassed the returns of said Election and from said returns it
<br />appears, and this City Council finds, that the total number of votes
<br />cast in each precinct for each person and for or against each of said
<br />four propositions, the number of votes given in the City to each
<br />person and for or against each proposition, the whole number of votes
<br />cast in the City, and the total number of absentee votes cast in the
<br />City'and in consolidated voting precinct No. 22 which consisted of
<br />two State and County precincts and of School District territory which
<br />lies outside of the City Limits of the City of Santa Ana, are as set
<br />forth on Exhibit A, attached hereto and made a part hereof.

<br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That at said General Municipal
<br />Election THOMAS W. THURMAN, residing in WARD TWO, LORIN GRISET,
<br />residing in WARD FOUR, and J. OGDEN MARKEL, residing in WARD SIX,
<br />were elected to the office of Member of the City Council for a term
<br />of four years;
<br />
<br /> That WILBER F. HARTMAN and CHARLOTTE M. REITER were elected
<br />to the office of Member of the Board of Education for the term of
<br />four years;
<br />
<br /> That at the Special Election called and consolidated with said
<br />General Municipal Election, Proposition A, concerning incurring a
<br />bonded indebtedness for storm drains and sewer improvements, failed
<br />to receive the affirmative vote of two-thirds of the electors voting
<br />on said Proposition, and said Bond Proposition is hereby declared to
<br />have failed;
