RESOLUTION 68-54 INITIATING PROCEEDINGS FOR THE <br />ANNEXATION OF TERRITOt{Y TO THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, <br />DESIGNATING AN APPROPRIATE NAME FOR SAID TERRITORY <br />OF "GROVEMONT AND LINCOLN EAST ANNFJf", AND GIVING <br />NOTICE OF PROTEST HEARING THEP~EON <br /> <br /> W~EREAS, on April 10, 1968, the Local Agency Formation <br />Commission of Orange County approved the map and description of the <br />territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Santa Aha, California; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEP~EFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the <br />City of Santa Ana hereby initiates proceedings for annexation of <br />said territory to the City of Santa Ana for the following reasons: <br /> <br />That said territory can best be served by the City of <br />Santa Ana with municipal services of the highest quality <br />anywhere obtainable at a cost for such services which is <br />lower than can be obtained anywhere else in the County <br />of Orange; <br /> <br />That it is to the mutual advantage of the City and the <br />landowners that said territory become a part of said <br />City. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER R~SOLVED: That the City Council of the City of <br />Santa Ana hereby declares its intention to annex all of the territory <br />hereinbelow described under the provisions of the Annexation of <br />Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939; hereby finds and declares that <br />said territory is uninhabited within the meaning of the Government <br />code Section 35303 on the date of the adoption of this Resolution; <br />and that said territory is contiguous to the City of Santa Ana, lies <br />in the County of Orange, State of California, and is described as: <br /> <br />Commencing at the intersection of the center lines of Fairhaven <br />Avenue and Glassell Street, said intersection being the southwest <br />corner of Lot 13 in Block "D" of the A. B. Chapman Tract as laid <br />out and surveyed by Frank Lecouvreur in 1870, as shown on a map <br />recorded in Book 102, Page 15 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of <br />Orange County, California, and running thence South 89" 56' 00" <br />West 84.50 feet, along the center line of Fairhaven Avenue, to the <br />northwest corner of the land described as parcel one in deed to <br />Johan Jacob Mueller, recorded July 24, 1897 in Book 31, Page 61 <br />of Deeds, records of Los Angeles County, California; thence South <br />00" 04' 00" East along the West line of said land of Johan Jacob <br />Mueller, a distance of 30.00 feet to the northwest corner of the <br />land annexed to the City of Santa Ana by the Fairhaven and Glassell <br />S.E.Annex, by Ordinance NS-735; thence South along the West boundary <br />of the City of Santa Ana as annexed by Ordinance NS-735, a distance <br />of 250.00 feet to an angle point in said City boundary and to the <br />true point of beginning; thence departing from said City boundary, <br />South along the southerly prolongation of said West boundary, a <br />distance of 384.28 feet to the South line of that certain 7 acre <br />parcel conveyed to W. W. Martin b~ deed recorded May 21, 1894 in <br />Book 69 at Page 298 of Deeds, Records of Los Angeles County, <br />California; thence West along said South line 737.96 feet to the <br />east boundary of the City of Santa Ana as annexed by the Lincoln <br />and Virginia W. Annex, Ordinance NS-469; thence South along said <br />City boundary as annexed by Ordinance NS-469, a distance of 160.34 <br />feet to an angle point in said City boundary; thence West along <br />said City boundary, a distance of 25.00 feet to an angle point in <br />the City boundary as annexed to the City of Santa Ana by Ordinance <br />No. 73; thence South along said City boundary as annexed by <br />Ordinance No. 73, a distance of 600.53 feet to the Northwest corner <br />of Santa Clara and Lincoln, N.E.
