RESOLUTION 68-94 AUTHORIZING CONDEMNATION OF REAL <br />PROPERTY FOR THE WIDENING OF SEVENTEENTH STREET <br />BETWEEN BAKER STREET AND THE SANTA ANA FREEWAY <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in order to provide for a more orderly flow of <br />traffic on Seventeenth Street in the City of Santa Ana it has <br />become necessary to widen and improve said street from Baker Street <br />to the Santa Ana Freeway; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of <br />the City of Santa Ana does hereby find and declare that the public <br />interest and necessity require that Seventeenth Street be widened <br />and improved from Baker Street to the Santa Ana Freeway to provide <br />for a more orderly flow of east-west traffic, and further require <br />that said City do have, take,~and acquire for street purposes that <br />certain real property in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, <br />State of California, described as: <br /> <br />PARCEL iA: <br /> <br />That portion of the Wiley's Addition as shown on a <br />map recorded in Book 1, Page 86, of Miscellaneous <br />Maps, Record of Orange County, California, described <br />as follows: <br /> <br />Beginning at a point on the center line of Seventeenth <br />Street, said point being 1169.98 feet east of the <br />southwest corner of Section 6, Township 5 South, Range <br />9 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian; thence North <br />0° 25' 00" West 179.09 feet to the Westerly line of <br />the Southern Pacific Railroad reservation, 100 feet <br />wide; thence Southeasterly along said reservation to <br />the center line of Seventeenth Street; thence Westerly <br />along the center line of Seventeenth Street a distance <br />of 84.17 feet to the point of beginning. <br /> <br />PARCEL lB: <br /> <br />An easement for street purposes over the Southerly <br />50 feet of the following described property: <br /> <br />The West 58 feet of the South 150 feet of the following: <br />Beginning 15.53 chains East of the Southwest corner of <br />Section 6, Township 5 South, Range 9 West, S.B.M.; <br />thence East 3.52 chains, more or less, to the Westerly <br />line of the Southern Pacific Railroad reservation; <br />thence Northwesterly along said reservation to a point <br />6.21 chains due north of the South line of said <br />Section 6; thence .5 of a chain; thence South 6.21 <br />chains to the point of beginning. <br /> <br />PARCEL lC: <br /> <br />An easement for street purposes over the Southerly <br />52.00 feet of the following: <br /> <br />That portion of the 7.48 acre parcel of land as shown <br />on a Map of Wiley's Addition, said Map recorded in <br />Book 1, Page 86, Miscellaneous Maps, Records of said <br />Orange County, together with the portion of 17th Street <br />adjoining said parcel On the South described as a whole <br />as follows: <br /> <br />BEGINNING at a point 1024.98 feet East of the Southwest <br />corner of Section 6, in Township 5 South, Range 9 West, <br />San Bernardino Base and Meridian, said point also being <br />the Southwest corner of the land described in the deed <br />to George B. MacGillivray recorded December 5, 1898 in <br />Book 41, Page 21, Deeds, Records of said Orange County <br />and running thence West 114 feet; thence North 380 feet; <br />thence East 114 feet to the West line of said land of <br />MacGillivray; thence South 380 feet; to the point of <br />beginning.
