(3) No advancement in salary above Step C shall become effective until approved by the City Manager, except when placement on a salary step above Step C results from a promotion under the provisions of Section 9 herein. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That Section 8 of Resolution No. 58-281 is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 8. Reduction in Salary Steps. Any officer or employee who is being paid on a salary step higher than Step C may be reduced by one or more steps, but not lower than Step C of the appropriate salary schedule, upon the recommen- dation of the head of the department in which he or she is employed and the approval of the City Manager. Procedure for such reduction shall follow the same procedure as outlined for merit advancements in Section 7, and such employee may be considered for readvancements under the same provisions as contained in subsection (c) of Section 7. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That any and all other Resolutions amending Sections 2, 3, 3.1, 7(b)(3) and 8 of the Resolution No. 58-281 are declared to be superseded, rescinded and repealed by this Resolution.
