RESOLUTION 69-9 AUTHORIZING CONDEMNATION OF <br />REAL PROPERTY NECESSARY FOR THE LOCATION OF <br />A FIRE STATION WITHIN THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, because of the rapid population growth in the City <br />of Santa Ana it is necessary that a new fire station be located to <br />adequately protect the structures within the City of Santa Ana from <br />fire hazard; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the <br />City of Santa Ana does hereby find and declare that the public interest <br />and necessity require the construction of a new fire station and the <br />acquisition of a land site therefor; that fee title be acquired for <br />this fire station site; and further require that said City do have and <br />acquire that certain real property in the city of Santa Ana, County of <br />Orange, State of California, described as: <br /> <br />That portion of Block "A" of the A. B. Chapman Tract surveyed <br />by Frank Lecouvreur in 1870, as shown on a map recorded in <br />Book 102, Page 15 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange <br />County California, described as follows: <br /> <br />Beginning at the intersection of the center line of Grand <br />Avenue, with a line that is parallel with and 140.00 feet <br />Northerly, measured at right angles, from the center line <br />of Santa Clara Avenue; thence Easterly along said last <br />mentioned parallel line 180.00 feet; thence Southerly, at <br />right angles, 140.00 feet to the said center line of Santa <br />Clara Avenue; thence Westerly along said center line to <br />said center line of Grand Avenue; thence Northerly along <br />said center line of Grand Avenue to the point of beginning. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: <br /> <br /> 1. That the City Attorney is hereby ordered to bring an action <br />in the name of the City to condemn said property necessary to be taken <br />and to do all things necessary to prosecute said action to final <br />determination; <br /> <br /> 2. That said public improvement is planned and located in a <br />manner which will be most compatible with the greatest public good <br />and the least private injury; <br /> <br /> 3. That the City of Santa Ana is authorized, empowered, and <br />required to provide fire protection for structures within the City <br />and in the furtherance thereof to maintain fire stations to house <br />equipment and men necessary for said function; <br /> <br /> 4. That said action in condemnation shall be taken in accordance <br />with the provisions of the Code of Civil Procedure and the Constitution <br />of the State of California relating to eminent domain. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana <br />at its regular meeting held on the 20th day of January, 1969. <br /> <br />ATTEST .' <br /> <br />CLERK OF THE COUNCIL <br /> <br /> <br />
