SPECIAL RESOLUTION <br />RESOLUTION NO. 69-67 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in April of 1965 TOM McMICHAEL was elected to the <br />City Council of the City of Santa Aha from Ward One, and thereafter, in <br />April of 1967, was elected Mayor by his fellow Councilmen; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the term of TOM McMICHAEL's mayoralty was character- <br />ized by his vigorous personal effort on behalf of the City of Santa Ana; the <br />accomplishments and goals realized during his tenure included the following: <br /> <br /> (1) Significant developments in human relations, including the <br />Community Relations Program; <br /> (Z) Institution and continuation of negotiations leading to the <br />construction of a State Building and a Federal Building within the Santa Aha <br />Civic Center; <br /> (3) Establishment of Centennial Committee, Citizen-Government <br />Advisory Committee for Traffic Safety, and Freeway Committee; <br /> (4) Acquisition and development of parks, including acquisition of <br />site for area park on former F.C.C. property in southwest Santa Ana; <br /> (5) The involvement of various business segments, dealing with one <br />another to meet City problems; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, during his exemplary and dynamic tenure, the City of <br />Santa Aha has again surged forward in development and assessed valuation <br />while maintaining the high level of efficiency offered its citizens by municipal <br />employee s; <br /> <br /> IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA: That the City Council, for itself and for those whom it <br />represents, expresses appreciation to TOM McMICHAEL for the unselfish <br />service rendered by him to his fellows, and for the tangible and intangible <br />results of his labors, of which there are many. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana <br />at its regular meeting held on the 5th day of May, 1969. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />CLERK OF THE COUNCIL <br /> <br />MAYOR <br /> <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA ) <br />COUNTY OF ORANGE ) <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA ) <br /> <br />SS <br /> <br /> I, FLORENCE I.
