Chandler. <br />None <br /> <br />Dahl, <br /> <br />Each member of the City Council having received copies of <br />the Minutes of January 18th and January 23th, 1954, reading <br />of the Minutes was dispensed with and approved on motion of <br />Councilman Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried. <br /> <br />In Re This being' the date set for hearing on the amendment <br /> <br />Amend. Application <br />Thelma Oood~,,? n <br />Reclassify <br />property No. side <br />15th btn College Ave. <br />and Eng_~.lsh St. <br /> <br /> application of <br />Thelma Goodwin for the reclassification of property situated on the <br />north side of 15th Street between College Avenue and English Street, <br />from the R-1 District to the R-2 and R-3 Districts, the Clerk read two <br /> <br />communications from Ellis C. Diehl, Vice President, College Crest, Inc., <br /> <br />protesting the action of the Planning Commission and requesting that <br /> <br />the Council deny the application for rezoning any lots facing 15th <br /> <br />Street between College Avenue and English Street to the R-2 or R-3 <br /> <br />Districts, and stating there is no objection to a zoning to multiple <br /> <br />family use of two or three lots adjoining the Church property but good <br /> <br />planning would require that the property along the north side of 15th <br /> <br />Street westerly of these two or three lots should remain in the single <br />family zone. Also, protest was read of Burwell C. Palm, 10a East 8th <br />Street, on behalf of two insurance companies which have committed <br /> <br />themselves to make in excess of one million dollars worth of "G.I." <br /> <br />loans, in connection with purchases by veterans of homes in the <br /> <br />"College Crest" tract, immediately south of the land covered by the <br /> <br />re-zoning application and requested the re-zooing be denied. On <br /> <br />motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Larsen and carried, the <br /> <br />communications were received and filed. Wilfred B. Taylor, spokesman, <br /> <br />and Orville P. Goodwin, owners of portions of the property, and as <br /> <br />trustees for seventeen persons who have equities in the property, <br /> <br />stated reasons why the application should be granted. On motion of <br /> <br />Councilman Larsen, seconded by Jerome and carried, the Attorney was <br /> <br />instructed to prepare an Ordinance to classify the westerly 630~x 130~ <br /> <br />in depth along 15th Street the property described in the petition to <br /> <br />the R-1 District, with a 201 set-back; reclassify the easterly 64~ of <br />the westerly 694'x130~ in depth along 15th Street of the property des- <br /> <br />In Ee <br />Amend.App].icatlon <br />Cecil DeVore <br />Reclassify property <br />E.si~e Baker St. b~n <br />Edinger & Berkeley Sis. <br /> <br />cribed in the petition to the R-2 District, and all other property <br />described in the petition to be reclassified R-2 and R-~ Districts, <br />as requested. <br /> <br />This being the date set for hearing on the amendment application of <br />Cecil DeVote for the reclassification of property situated on the east <br />side of Baker Street between Edinger and Berkeley Streets, described <br />as Lots I to 12, both inclusive, from the R-1 District to the R-3 <br />District, Robert J.
