RESOLUTION 69-95 ADOPTING STANDARD DRAWINGS <br />AND STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR PUBLIC WORKS <br />IMPROVEMENTS WITHIN THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 62-217 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, certain drawings giving detailed data about certain <br />portions of street improvements have been previously adopted by <br />Resolution No. 62-217; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in furtherance of the development of good engineering <br />and construction techniques many of said drawings have been revised <br />and other new drawings have been developed by the Department of <br />Public Works; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, these drawings are presently in use within the <br />City, and the City Council has determined that the same should be <br />made the official standards for the City as authorized by Santa <br />Ana Municipal Code Section 7201; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Southern California Chapters of the American <br />Public Works Association (APWA) and the Associated General <br />Contractors of America (AGC) have jointly prepared "STANDARD <br />SPECIFICATIONS FOR PUBLIC WORKS" after years of research and effort <br />to develop area-wide construction standards and thereby achieve <br />greater economies in construction by public agencies; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: <br /> <br /> 1. That those certain numbered drawings hereinafter listed <br />are hereby adopted as the Standard Drawings and the same are hereby <br />declared to be the minimum Improvement Standards for all Public <br />Works improvements within the City of Santa Ana: <br /> <br />Standard <br />Standard <br />Standard <br />Standard <br />Standard <br /> <br />Numbers 101-119 incl. <br />Numbers 201-207 incl. <br />Numbers 301-317 incl. <br />Numbers 401-418 incl. <br />Numbers 501-505 incl. <br /> <br />(Streets) <br />(Sanitary Sewers) <br />(Storm Drains) <br />(Water System) <br />(Construction Signing); <br /> <br /> 2. That copies of said standards are on file and shall be <br />maintained for examination by the public in the offices of the <br />Director of Public Works, the Planning Director, and the Clerk of <br />the Council, and that said Standard Drawings shall be reproduced <br />and made available for sale to the public in pamphlet form by the <br />Department of Public Works; <br /> <br /> 3. That "STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR PUBLIC WORKS <br />CONSTRUCTION" as written and promulgated by Southern california <br />Chapters of APWA and AGC is hereby adopted as the standard speci- <br />fications for public works construction in the City of Santa Ana <br />with minor modifications on a project basis as may be provided <br />by the Director of Public Works in Special Provisions for each <br />contract; <br /> <br /> 4. That copies of said standard specifications are on file <br />and shall be maintained for examination by the public in the office <br />of the Director of Public Works and further that copies shall be <br />made available for sale to the public by referral to Building News, <br />Inc., 3055 Overland Avenue, Los Angeles, California 90034, publishers <br />of said standard specifications; <br /> <br />5.
