R. Putnam to drive taxicabs, was received, filed <br /> <br />In Re <br />Closing North Flower <br />St. at the Santa Aha <br />Freeway <br /> <br />and permit granted. <br /> <br />Dr. Horace W. Leeeing, <br /> <br />2117 North Flower <br /> <br />Street, asked if the Council <br /> <br />had received a letter from Attorney Jack Rimel, written at the request <br />of the committee representing 1400 persons who signed petitions <br /> <br />requesting the permanent closing of Flower Street at the Freeway. <br /> <br />The communication was read and on motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded <br /> <br />by McBride and carried, the letter was received and filed. <br /> <br />Communication was read from the Chamber of Commerce advising that the <br /> <br />Board of Directors approved without dissenting vote a recommendation <br />of the Highway Committee that the connection between Flower Street <br /> <br />and the Freeway as shown on the map recently submitted to the Council <br /> <br />by the State Highway Department be approved and on motion of Council- <br /> <br />man Jerome, seconded by McBride and carried, the communication was <br /> <br />received and filed. Dr. Horace W Leecing, Lee Metzgar, Charles <br /> <br />Swanner and others gave many reasons why they felt North Flower Stree~ <br /> <br />should be closed on both sides of its intersection with Santa Aha <br /> <br />Tn Re <br />Revised Freeway <br />Agreement <br /> <br />Boulevard. <br /> <br />Letters were read from the Department of Public Works and the Division <br />of Highways reference the Freeway Agreement, as originally submitted <br /> <br />in October, together with copies of revised map marked Exhibit B-! <br /> <br /> <br />
