RESOLUTION 69-107 AUTHORIZING CONDEMI~ATION OF <br />EASEMENTS FOR STREET PURPOSES ON THE WEST SIDE <br />OF MAIN STREET, SOUTH OF WARNER AVENUE <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in order to provide for a more orderly flow of <br />traffic on Main Street in the City of Santa Ana it has become <br />necessary to widen and improve said street between Warner Avenue <br />and the Pacific Electric Railway right of way; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of <br />the City of Santa Ana does hereby find and declare that the public <br />interest and necessity require that Main Street be widened and <br />improved between Warner Avenue and the Pacific Electric Railway <br />right of way to provide for a more orderly flow of north-south <br />traffic, and further require that said City do have, take, and <br />acquire for street purposes that certain real property in the city <br />of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of California, described as: <br /> <br />PARCEL 1: An easement for street purposes over the <br />Easterly 27.00 feet of that portion of Section 25, <br />Township 5 South, Range 10 West, S.B.B.& M., described <br />as follows: <br /> <br />Beginning at the intersection of the West line of <br />South Main Street, as described in the deed to the <br />County of Orange, recorded February 17, 1914 in Book <br />250, Page 73 of deeds, with the Northwesterly line <br />of the strip of land 80 feet wide conveyed by James <br />McFadden to H. E. Huntington, Trustee, by deed <br />recorded June 7, 1909 in Book 174, Page 253 of deeds; <br />thence North along the West line of Main Street 300 <br />feet; thence at right angles West 292 feet; thence <br />South parallel to the West line of said South Main <br />Street to the northwesterly line of the land described <br />in said deed to H. E. Huntington, Trustee, and thence <br />northeasterly along said northwesterly line to the <br />point of beginning. <br /> <br />PARCEL 2: An easement for street purposes over the <br />Easterly 60.00 feet of the North 475 feet of the East <br />322 feet of the following described land: <br /> <br />Commencing at the Northeast corner of Section 25, <br />Township 5 South, Range 10 West, S.B.B.&M.; running <br />thence West along the North line of said Section, <br />990 feet; thence South 0° 39' 15" West, parallel to <br />the East line of said Section 2146.96 feet to a point <br />in the Northwesterly line of the strip of land 80 <br />feet wide conveyed by James McFadden to H. E. Huntington, <br />Trustee, by deed recorded June 7, 1909 in Book 174, <br />Page 253 of Deeds; thence Northeasterly along the North- <br />westerly line of said 80-foot strip to a point in the <br />East line of said Section; thence North 0° 39' 15" East <br />along the East line of said Section 1580 feet to the <br />point of beginning. <br /> <br />Excepting therefrom those portions previously dedicated <br />for street purposes. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: <br /> <br /> 1. That the City Attorney is hereby ordered to bring an <br />action in the name of the City of Santa Ana to condemn said property <br />necessary to be taken and to do all things necessary to prosecute <br />said action to final determination; <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
