<br />Communication was read from the Bristol Street Baptist Church re-affiX-I
<br />lng the oral statement made to ~he Council in September, 1953, to
<br />comply with the City's requirements for annexation by granting an
<br />easement along the easterly side of the property for street purposes
<br />and entering into an agreement to improve the same to standard City
<br />specifications. On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen
<br />and carried, the communication was received and filed.

<br />On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Larsen and carried,
<br />communication of County Sanitation District was received and filed
<br />reference exclusion of "Schulman Property" from County Sanitation
<br />District No. 2, approved by the Board of Supervisors March 2nd, 195~ and
<br />
<br />removing Santa Ana's representative from serving on said District.

<br />Communication was read from Attorney Jack Rimel, with photostatic
<br />copy of petition, addressed to the Board of Supervisors, signed by
<br />thirty-three property owners, requesting annexation of approximately
<br />685 acres.in the area southeast of Santa Aha and reclassification of
<br />the property to the M-1 use. It was moved by Councilman Larsen,
<br />seconded by Jerome and csmried, t. hat the Council again go on record
<br />as having no objection to the area being reclassified for M-1 use,
<br />and the Clerk was directed to advise the County Planning Commission,
<br />Chamber of Commerce and Attorney Jack Rimel of the Council's action.
<br />On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, the
<br />applications of A. X. Samples amd Merle V. Hart to drive taxicabs,
<br />were received, filed and permits granted.

<br />On motion cf Councilman McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, the
<br />notification of the State Board of Equalization of alcoholic beverage
<br />application of Ramon A. Prado, 701 East First Street, was received
<br />and filed.

<br />On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, ~he
<br />application of the Blu~ Star Mother's of America to solicit funds on
<br />May 7th, 1954, was referred to the Business Men's Association for
<br />recommendation.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Larsen, seconded by McBride and carried, the
<br />application of the Orange County Society for Crippled Children and
<br />Adults, Inc., to solicit funds on April 3r~, 195$, was referred to
<br />the Manager with power to act.

<br />On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, the
<br />Manager was authorized to enter into escrow with Arthur E. Confer for
<br />the purchase of property at 606 North Ross Stree$, for the sum of
<br />
<br />$13,200.00. for Civic Center site.
