Development <br />Co. <br /> <br />In Re <br />Variance <br />Francis E.Knipper <br /> <br />Communication was read from the Planning Commission recommending <br />approval of abandonment of layout of land at Santiago Way and <br />Poinsettia Street, formerly dedicated as part of Dorman Street, and <br />on'motion of Councilman Lateen, seconded by Dabl and carried, the <br />communication was received and filed. <br /> <br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, <br />on motion of Councilman Lateen, seconded by Dahl and carried, the <br />following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> "Resolution-No. 54-h9 approving map, declaring <br /> intention to vacate a portion of Dorman Street <br /> and fixing time and place for hearing all persons <br /> interested in or objecting thereto" <br /> <br />was considered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes, Councilmen <br /> <br />Noes, Councilmen <br />Absent, Councilmen <br /> <br />J.L.McBride, Thomas F. Chandler <br />None <br />William Jerome <br /> <br /> Communication was read from the Planning Commission recommending <br /> approval of parcel of.ground, containing 8.5 acres, located south of <br /> Tenth Street between English and Artesia Streets, for a park site, and <br /> on ~motlon of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Lateen and carried, the <br /> <br /> communication was received and filed. <br /> ,, <br />Communication was read from the Planning Commission recommending the <br />adoption of Ordinance establishing a "P" District, for Parking and <br />Professional Use, and.on motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Larsel <br />and carried, the communication was received and filed. On motion of <br />Councilman Dahl, seconded by McBride and carried, a notice was ordered <br />published for a public hearing to be held May 3rd, 195~, on the <br />question of the proposed amendments to the Official Land-Use District- <br /> <br />ing Plan. <br /> # <br />On' motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Lateen and carried, the <br />recommendation of the Planning Commission was approved and variance <br />granted to Edward W. and Esther R. Merrill, to permit the operation <br />of an insurance agency from building at 422-424 South Birch Street, <br /> <br />which is now a three-unit apartment, subject to certain conditions. <br />,, <br />On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Dahl and carried, the <br />recommendation of the Planning Commission was approved and variance <br />granted to Orange County Development Company to permit the erection <br />of an 8' x 12' sign, at point of sale of lots, on property situated <br />at the northeast corner of Edinger Stree~ a~d Rene Drive, between Rite <br />and Doreen Streets, and to establish a temporary real estate sales <br />office for the sale of homes in this tract, the sign and building to <br />be removed at ~the end of one year. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Lateen and ca, tied, the <br />recommendation of the Planning Commission was approved and variance <br />granted to Francis E. and Martha C. Knlpper to permit the use of prop- <br />erty in the 2100 block on the north side of West 17th Street, between <br />English Street and the Towner Manufacturing Company property, for <br />automobile servico station and car wash. <br /> <br /> <br />
