Charlton <br /> <br />Street, was approved subject to <br /> <br />to the satisfaction of the Department of Public Work~. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Lateen and carried, the <br />request of The Military Order of the Purple Heart, Inc., for per~issio <br />to exhibit antique and modern firearms and war equipment, mounted on <br />the exterior of a truck, was denied. <br /> <br />At the request of the Purchasing Agent and on motion of Councilman <br /> <br />drainage and~ sewage being provided <br /> <br />McBride, seconded by Dahl and carried, the Clerk was authorized to <br /> <br />advertise for bids for one street sweeper; bids to be opened May 3rd, <br />1954. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Director of Public Works and on motion of <br /> <br />Councilman Lateen, seconded by Dahl and carried, the Clerk was author- <br /> <br />ized to advertise for bids for 20,000 feet 6 inch Cast Iron Pipe; bids <br />to be opened May 3rd, 1954. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Lateen and carried, the <br />communication of H.M.Neighbour, DirecTor of Public Works, advising of <br />his retirement effective May 31st, 1954, was received, filed and <br />Manager instructed to prepare a Resolution for presentation at the <br /> <br />next meeting. <br />!! <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Lateen and carried, the <br />application of The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company, <br />before the Public Utilities Commission, for authority to construct <br /> <br />spur track across Washing~on Avenue, was received and filed. <br /> <br />~n motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Dahl and carried, <br /> <br />a <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />Minutes of the meeting of the Executive Committee of the Joint Outfall <br /> <br />Sewer, held at Anaheim, April let, 1954, were received and filed. <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Dahl and carried, the <br /> <br />applications of Donald 0. Eagleton and James G. Wieg~ef, to drive <br /> <br />taxicabs, were received, filed and permits granted. <br />. <br />On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Lateen and carried, the <br />notifications of the State Board of Equalization of alcoholic beverage <br />applications of Nike Jimenez, 836 East Washington Avenue and Mary M. <br /> <br />Palladino, 1659 East First Street, were received and filed. <br />,, <br />The Council having unanimously .waived the reading of the Ordinance, on <br />motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Lateen and carried, the follow- <br />ing Ordinance entitled: <br /> <br />"Ordinance amending Santa Ana Municipal Code by <br />amending Article IX thereof creating changes in <br />district boundaries and by amending Sheets Numbers <br />44 and 45 of the Districting Map to show the re- <br />classification" <br /> <br />of property eituated on the east side of Minnie Street between Ohestnut <br /> <br />and McFadden Street~, from the R-1 District to the M-1 District, in <br /> <br />accordance with the amendment application of Annie C. Charlton, was <br />considered, designated Ordinance No. NS-3~ and passed by the following <br /> <br />vote: <br /> <br />Ayes, <br /> <br />Noes, <br />Absent, <br /> <br />Councilmen JYL.McBride, Thomas F.
