RESOLUTION 69-142 AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A GRANT <br />DEED FOR THE SALE OF SURPLUS PROPERTY FOR A CASH <br />CONSIDERATION OF $6,643.75 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by action of the City Council on September 15, 1969, <br />certain real property located on the north side of First Street, <br />and the west side of Sycamore Street was declared to be surplus; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has recommended that <br />said property be sold to an adjacent landowner by direct negotia- <br />tion as provided in §2613 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code, provided <br />the property be held as one parcel by the purchaser, by reason of <br />the fact that said property has real value only to an adjacent <br />landowner and only nuisance value to any other persons. Said <br />grantees have offered to pay to the City the sum of $6,643.75; <br />said transaction is to be handled through Escrow No. 56651-C <br />opened with Security Title Insurance Company, Santa Ana, California; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Mayor is hereby <br />authorized to sign the escrow instructions, and the Mayor and the <br />Clerk of the Council are hereby authorized and directed to execute <br />a deed granting to WILLIAM H. SAUNDERS and CLAIRE SAUNDERS, husband <br />and wife, as joint tenants, all that real property in the City of <br />Santa Ana, County 0f?Orange, State of California, described as: <br /> <br />That portion of Block 4 of the Town of Santa Ana, in <br />the City of Santa Ana, as shown on a map recorded in <br />book 2, page 51 of Miscellaneous Records, in the <br />office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County, <br />California, described as follows: <br /> <br />Beginning at the Southeasterly corner of said Block <br />and running thence North along the East line thereof <br />50.61 feet to the center of an 8-3/4 inches brick wall; <br />running thence West parallel with the South line of <br />said Block 4 and along the center line of said wall, <br />115 feet; thence South parallel with the East line of <br />said Block 4, 50.61 feet to a point in the South line <br />thereof; and thence East along the South line, 115 <br />feet to the point of beginning. <br /> <br />EXCEPTING the North 0.37 feet. <br /> <br />ALSO EXCEPTING the Southerly 40 feet. <br /> <br />ALSO EXCEPTING from the above that portion lying within <br />a spandrel shaped parcel bounded Southerly by the North <br />line of said Southerly 40 feet, bounded Easterly by the <br />East line of said Block 4, bounded Northwesterly by the <br />arc of a curve concave Northwesterly having a radius of <br />25 feet and tangent to said Southerly and Easterly <br />boundaries. <br /> <br />Grantor herein reserves all vehicular access to and <br />from 1st Street from the lands lying North of the South <br />line of the lands conveyed by this Deed. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That there shall be filed concur- <br />rently herewith an agreement between the City and Purchaser, for <br />recording, setting forth restrictions. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa <br />Ana at its regular meeting held on the 15th day of September, 1969. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />CLERK OF THE <br /> <br />MAYOR <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
