RESOLUTION 69-179 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF <br />APPLICATION BY THE CITY MANAGER FOR GRANT TO <br />ACQUIRE AND DEVELOP OPEN-SPACE LAND <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Title VII of the Housing Act of 1961, as amended, <br />provides for the making of grants by the Secretary of Housing and <br />Urban Development to states and local public bodies to assist in <br />the acquisition and development of permanent interests in land <br />for open-space use where such assistance is needed for carrying <br />out a unified or officially coordinated program for the provision <br />of open-space land as part of the comprehensive planned development <br />of urban areas; and <br /> <br /> WHEP~EAS, the City of Santa Ana, herein sometimes referred <br />to as "Applicant", desires to acquire and develop a fee simple <br />interest in and to certain land known as the proposed park site <br />at Center and Chestnut Streets in the City of Santa Ana, which land <br />comprises 9.471 acres of unimproved property more particularly <br />described as follows: <br /> <br />PARCEL 1: (a) That portion of Lot 56 of Tract 2752, in the city of <br />Santa Ana as shown on a map recorded in Book 79, Pages 30 and 31 of <br />Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California, described <br />as follows: <br /> <br />Beginning at the southwesterly corner of said Lot 56; thence North <br />0° 04' 39" West along the West line of said Lot 56 a distance of <br />299.69 feet; thence North 89° 29' 24" East 300.00 feet; thence <br />South 0° 04' 39" East 128.40 feet; thence North 89° 53' 24" East <br />449.01 feet to the northwesterly corner of Lot 51 of said Tract <br />2752; thence South 0° 06' 36" East 170.00 feet to the Southeasterly <br />corner of said Lot 56; thence South 89° 37' 54" West 749.11 feet to <br />the point of beginning. <br /> <br /> (b) Lots 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 50 and 51 <br />of Tract 2752 in the City of Santa Ana, as shown on a map recorded <br />in Book 79, Pages 30 and 31 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange <br />County, California; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Applicant desires also to acquire and develop a fee <br />simple interest in and to certain land known as the proposed park <br />at Edna Drive and the Santa Ana River in the City of Santa Ana, <br />which land comprises 8.32 acres of unimproved property more partic- <br />ularly described as follows: <br /> <br />PARCEL 2: That portion of the southwest corner of Section 2, <br />Township 5 South, Range 10 West, in the Ranchos Los Bolsas as <br />shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 51, Page 12 of Miscellaneous <br />Maps and Records of said Orange County described as follows: <br /> <br />Beginning at the southeast corner of Lot 10, as shown on a map of <br />Tract 6744, in Book 254, Page 23, Miscellaneous Maps and Records of <br />Orange County; thence South 89° 31' 45" West 282.14 feet; thence <br />North 0° 36' 25" West 89.96 feet to a tangent curve concave South- <br />easterly and having a radius of 15 feet; thence Northeasterly along <br />said curve through a central angle of 90° 08' 10" an arc distance <br />of 23.60 feet to a tangent line; thence South 89° 31' 45" West 90.00 <br />feet to a tangent curve concave Southwesterly having a radius of <br />15 feet; thence Southeasterly along said curve through a central <br />angle of 89° 51' 50" an arc distance of 23.53 feet to a tangent line; <br />thence South 0° 36' 25" East along said tangent line a distance of <br />90.04 feet; thence South 89° 31' 45" West 100.00 feet; thence South <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
