SPECIAL RESOLUTION <br /> RESOLUTION 70-3 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on April 6, 1965, Walter Brooks was <br />elected to the City Council of the City of Santa Aha as the <br />representative from Ward 7; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on April 1, 1969~ he was returned to office <br />by the citizens of the city; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, during his tenure as a councilman, and until <br />his resignation effective December 31, 1969, Walter Brooks was <br />a courageous spokesman, known and respected for his qualities <br />of objectivity and fairness; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Walter Brooks demonstrated his leadership <br />qualities by participating extensively in matters of concern to <br />the City and its citizens, by serving selflessly upon Council <br />committees, and by seeking continually for methods by which to <br />improve the services rendered by City officials to the community; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, as a Councilman, and privately, Mr. Brooks <br />was at the vanguard of programs designed to improve community <br />relations; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in all endeavors Walter Brooks was, and is, <br />possessed of the highest integrity, which fact alone adds weight <br />and credibility to his expressions of opinion; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, he has earned the admiration and respect of all <br />persons with whom and in whose interests he has dealt; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: The the City <br />Council of the City of Santa Aha, on its own behalf and in a repre- <br />sentative capacity for the citizens of Santa Ana hereby offers this <br />Resolution as a symbolic statement of appreciation to Walter Brooks <br />for his service to the City of Santa Aha and in gratitude for his <br />bestowing upon his fellow citizens the benefits of his many rich <br />qualities. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />CLERK OF THE COUNCIL <br /> <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA) <br />COUNTY OF ORANGE ) <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA ) <br /> <br />SS <br /> <br />MAYOR <br /> <br /> I, FLORENCE I.
