RESOLUTION 70-18 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> EXTENDING FRIENDLY GREETINGS TO THE <br /> CITY OF TEL AVIV, ISRAEL <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, within the ancient lands embraced by the country <br />of Israel there has grown up a relatively new twentieth century <br />coastal city called Tel Aviv; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, near the coastline of the Pacific Ocean in Orange <br />County, California, the nineteenth century city of Santa Ana has <br />quietly developed, only last year celebrating its centennial; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the bond of friendship which exists between <br />Israel and the United States of America extends as well to Tel Aviv <br />and Santa Ana, uniting in goal and principle the citizens of our <br />respective cities; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the citizens of Santa Ana wish to declare this <br />unity which link our two municipalities; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: <br /> 1. That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, for itself and, <br />in its representative capacity, for the citizens of the City of Santa Ana, <br />extends its most cordial greetings to the citizens and municipal author- <br />ities of the City of Tel Aviv, Israel; <br /> <br /> 2.
