RESOLUTION 70-37 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANAURGING THE ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO SUPPORT PROJECT <br />"COAST TO CREST" (SANTA ANA RIVER STUDY) <br /> <br /> WI{EP~EAS, the County of Riverside has ~egun a study OX the <br />use of the Santa Ana River for recreational purposes in a project <br />called "Coast to Crest," which envisions the development of a <br />recreational area extending from the river mouth to the San <br />Bernardino Mountains; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Orange County Board of Supervisors has been <br />asked to join with the Counties of Riverside and San Bernardino <br />to further this study; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the General Plan of the City of Santa Ana envisions <br />a continuous park along the banks of the Santa Ana River as the <br />"backbone of the proposed park and open space system throughout the <br />city of Santa Ana"; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana will benefit from this study <br />through contact with inland cities and counties concerning the <br />development of bicycle trails, hiking trails, camping areas and <br />other recreational facilities; and <br /> <br /> WI{EREAS, there is a need for extensive new recreational <br />facilities in the County of Orange on a regional basis; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the city of Santa Ana <br />approved in concept the "Coast to Crest" study. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City of Santa Ana en- <br />courages the Orange County Board of Supervisors to join with the <br />counties of Riverside and San Bernardino in furthering this study. <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa <br /> <br />Ana at its regular meeting held on <br />ATTE ST: <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />20th day of April, 1~70. <br /> MAYOR <br /> <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA) <br />COUNTY OF ORANGE ) <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA ) <br /> <br />SS <br /> <br /> I, FLORENCE I.
