Stead to permit the establishment of a camera <br /> repair business in garage on property at 2223 South Van Ness Avenue, <br /> with one unlighted sign, two square feet in size, to be placed on the <br /> garage. <br /> <br /> Communications were read from The Planning Commission recommending <br /> granting of variance to Mrs. Della S~umpf to permit the use of the <br /> lower east apartment in building at 606 West Second Street, for a <br /> chiropractor's office, subject to certain conditions, and, from the <br /> Department of Public Works that replacement of broken sidewalk at bothli <br /> ends of the property are needed in front of or along the side of the <br /> property to bring it up to present city standards. On motion of <br /> Councilman Larsen, seconded by Jerome and carried, the recommendation <br /> of the Planning Commission was approved and variance granted subject <br /> to the conditions as imposed by the Commission and by the Department <br /> of Public Works. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, the <br /> recommendation of the Planning Commission was approved and variance <br /> granted to Bronley Building Company to erect a !'V~ type sign, each sid <br /> of the "V" not to ~xceed 8! x lOI, on ~roP~rty situated at the south- <br /> west corner of Bristol and Willlts Streets, for a period not to exceed <br /> one year; this si~n to be located four feet west of the sidewalk on <br /> Bristol Street and six feet south of the sidewalk along Wi~.Oits Street <br /> Communications were read from the Planning Commission recommending <br /> granting cf variance to Glenn H. Kuhn to· permit use of buiZdlng~at ~ll <br /> South Broadway for office of certified public accountant, ~ubJect ~o <br /> certain conditions, and, from the Department of Public Works that <br /> replacement of sidewalk across driveway and driveway approach are <br /> needed to bring it up to pre~ent City standards. On motion of Counci <br /> man Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, the recommendation of The <br /> Planning Commission was approved and variance granted subject to the <br /> ~onditions as imposed by the Commission and by the Department of Publi <br /> Works. <br /> <br />Communication of the Planning Commission was read submitting Resolutio~ <br />No. 672 recommending the reclassification of property situated on both <br />sides of Broadway from 17th Street to Santa Olara Avenue, for a depth <br />of 150~, or three lots siding to Broadway, or one lot depth when front- <br />ing on Broadway, whichever ~s the case, from the R-3 District to the <br />"P" District, in accordance with the amendment application of Mabel G. <br />Webster etal. On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and <br />-carried, a notice of public hearing was ordered published setting date <br />of hearing as September 7th, 1954. <br /> <br /> <br />
