Council Chamber Santa Aha City Hall August 31, 1954. 6:10 P.M. City Council met for a special meeting for the purpose of calling a Special Election to be held November 2, ~95~, to be consolidated with a General State Election on said day to present to the voters an Initiative Petition to amend the Santa Ana City Charter. Meeting called to order by the Mayor. Present: Councilmen Absent: Councilmen Statement of Clerk Petitions.to amend City Charter William Jerome, J.L.McBride, Thomas F. Larsen, Milford W. Ds~hl, Courtney R. Chandler. None .The Statement of the Clerk was read certifying that the signatures of voters on petitions to amend the Santa Aha City Charter to provide for five wards and to require residence of one Councilman in each ward, had been examined and found sufficient. On motion of Councilman Dahl seconded by Jerome and carried, the Statement was ac.'eptsd, received In Re' Resol. No. 54-141 Calling Special Election to provide five Wards and to consolidate with General Election APPROVED: and filed. The 'Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Jerome and oa'ried, the following Resolution entitled: "Resolution No. 54-141 of the City Council of the City of Santa Aha cal~ing a Special Election to submit to a vote of the registered electors of said City a proposed measure to amend the Charter of the City of Santa Aha to provide five Wards and to require residence of one Councilman in each Ward; and author- izing consolidation of said Election with tko General Election to be held November 2, 1954" was considered and passed by Ayes, Councilmen Noes, Councilmen Absent, Councilmen the following vote: William Jerome, J.L.McBride, Thomas F.
