RESOLUTION 70-69 DECLARING THE RESULT OF THE CANVASS OF ELECTION RETURNS OF THE SPECIAL MD-NICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA, ON JUNE 2, 1970 WHEREAS, the City Council by Resolution 70-35 called a special election to be held in the City of Santa Ana on June 2, 1970, to submit to the electors of said City a certain proposition proposing the deletion of Article VIII from the Charter of the City of Santa Ana; and WHEREAS, the proposition voted on at said election was in words and figures as follows: Shall the Charter of the city of Santa Ana: be amended to delete Article VIII, dealing : with the establishment and regulation of : the Santa Ana Board of Education, in order : that State code provisions pertaining : thereto may control? : YES : : NO : : WHEREAS, a copy of the records as entered on the Minutes of the Board of Supervisors of Orange County showing the results of the canvass of the returns of said special election and absentee votes cast thereat has been duly received; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the city Council of the city of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines and declares that the votes cast at said special election for and against the said proposition and the absentee ballots cast for and against said proposition show the total of all votes cast to be as follows: YES NO TOTAL city of Santa Ana Proposition F 12,307 11,743 24,050 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That Proposition F, having received the affirmative vote of a majority of the electors voting thereon, is hereby declared to have carried.
