BESOLUTION 70-90 DECLARING THE INTENTION OF <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA TO TREAT PERSONS DISPIACED <br />BY CITY ACTION IN A MANNER COMPATIBLE WITH THEIR <br />BEST INTERESTS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, governmental agencies regularly employ powers to <br />acquire land for special use; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in many instances the amount of land necessarily <br />obtained for the public purpose causes the continued use of the <br />land by the condemnee to be impossible; and <br /> <br /> WP/EREAS, as a result of such impossibility, persons, <br />families, and companies are betimes required to relocate residences <br />or businesses, as the case may be; and <br /> <br /> Wt~EREAS, such displacement invariably leads to greater or <br />lesser degrees of inconvenience; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: <br /> <br /> 1. That the City of Santa Ana shall endeavor to cause <br />persons displaced by city action to be treated in a manner looking <br />toward their best interests, specifically to facilitate the <br />relocation of such persons in new quarters. <br /> <br /> 2. That the councilmen hereby request that they be provided <br />by staff with developments in low-cost housing, both publicly and <br />privately financed. <br /> <br /> 3. That information be furnished to the City Council by the <br />staff as to what programs, if any, are available to facilitate the <br />development of low-cost housing, by matching funds or otherwise, <br />to provide possible places of settlement by those persons displaced <br />by City action. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa <br />Ana at its regular meeting held on the 21st day of September, 1970. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />CLERK OF THE COUNCIL <br /> <br />MAYOR <br /> <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA) <br />COUNTY OF ORANGE ) <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA ) <br /> <br />SS <br /> <br /> I, FLORENCE I.
