RESOLUTION 70-108 ON SUPPORT OF VOLUNTARISM <br />AND HUMANITARIAN SERVICE THROUGH THE <br />COMMUNITY CHEST <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, unemployment and inflation are causing increased <br />hardship in Santa Ana, so the case loads of voluntary humanitarian <br />organizations have expanded considerably; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the factors causing accelerated need have also <br />contributed to a diminishment of contributions for voluntary <br />service agencies when their ministries are vitally required; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Community Chest is committed to the voluntary <br />approach to improving the quality of life in Santa Ana, and <br />underwrites high priority human services; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the health care, the guidance for youth, the <br />help for children and families, and the neighborhood services <br />supported by Community Chest are of critical importance; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a strong Community Chest program is basic to the <br />kind of city our citizens want, and enhances the record of Santa Ana <br />as a city of compassion and human concern; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of <br />the City of Santa Ana endorses the objectives of the 1970 <br />Community Chest Crusade, and encourages the widest possible <br />participation and support of this investment in people through <br />which the whole city benefits. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of <br />Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 2nd day of November, <br />1970. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />CLERK OF THE COUNCIL <br /> <br />MAYOR <br /> <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA) <br />COUNTY OF ORANGE ) <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA ) <br /> <br />SS <br /> <br /> I, FLORENCE I.
