In Re The Manager recommended that a reGuest be forwarded to the Planning

<br />on w. 17th St. Commission for approval of a site to locate a Fire Station on West

<br /> 17th Street described as the northerly boundary of 17th Street begin-
<br /> ning from a point 507' west of the westerly bouneary of Flower Street
<br /> and extending westerly for approximately 100' on the northerly boun~ar~
<br /> of l?th Street and to a depth of ~14I. It was moved by Councilman
<br /> McBride, seconded by Dahl and carried, that the recommendation of the
<br /> Manager be approved and a request to be sent to the Planning Commissio
<br /> for approval to purchase a site for a Fire Station.
<br />In Re The Manager stated that Vernon Miller of the Census Bureau has completed
<br />Special Census
<br />report his work and filed a report indicating a pre-count of 59,006 people,

<br />The Mana~'er requested authority to install automatic trip¢ing devices
<br />
<br />to be attached to parking meters, and on motion of Councilman Larsen,
<br />
<br />seconded by Jerome and ca,tied, authority was granted the Manager to
<br />
<br />select the location and install not more than twenty-five of theso
<br />
<br />devices on a trial basis.

<br />On motion of Councilma~ McBride, seconded by Larsen and carried, the
<br />Manager and Attorney were instructed to prepare the'neccssary docum~nt~
<br />to establish one-way streets on Sycamore, Bush, 3rd and 5th Streets,
<br />a trial basis.

<br />forth the Motion and Resolution passed by Los Angeles District Newspapers

<br />On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the
<br />communication was received and filed.

<br />It was moved by Councilman Larsen, seconded by McBride and carried,
<br />that the Planning Commission be requested to make a study, as soon as
<br />possible, of the east and west access roads starting from Main Street
<br />west into the west part of the City, with special attention to Fourth
<br />Street, Willits Street, Bishop Street, Edinger Street, Delhi Road and
<br />
<br />Fairview Avenue.

<br />It was moved by Councilman Dahl, seconded by Larsen and carried, that
<br />escrow instructions be approved and signed for property of Lyle D. and
<br />Violet M. Davis, in the sum of $1100.00, for property on South Main
<br />Street.

<br />The Council having unanimously waived the rea~ing of the Resolution, or
<br />motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Larsen and carried, the
<br />following Resolution entitled:
