RESOLUTION 70-117 DECLARING THE RESULT OF THE <br />CANVASS OF ELECTION RETURNS OF THE SPECIAL <br />MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, <br />CALIFORNIA, ON NOVEMBER 3, 1970 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council, by Ordinance NS-1028, called a <br />special election to be held in the City of Santa Ana on November <br />3, 1970, to submit to the electors of said City certain propositions <br />proposing amendments to sections of the Charter of the City of <br />Santa Ana; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the propositions voted on at said election were in <br />words and figures, as follows: <br /> <br />E <br /> <br />Shall Article IV of the Charter of the City : : <br />of Santa Aha be amended to increase the : YES : <br />compensation paid to city councilmen from : : <br />$125.00 per month to $400.00 per month, and : : <br />the additional salary of the mayor be increased : : <br />from the present $75.00 per month to $400.00 : : <br />per month, said increase to be effective only : : <br />as to the successors to those councilmen and : NO : <br />mayor now in office? : : <br /> <br />F <br /> <br />Shall Article IX of the Charter of the City : : <br />of Santa Ana be amended to permit the : YES : <br />Personnel Board to meet monthly only in the : : <br />event there is business on its agenda, but : : <br />in no event to meet less often than : NO : <br />quarterly? : : <br /> <br />G <br /> <br />Shall Article X of the Charter of the City of : : <br />Santa Ana be amended to delete the require- : YES : <br />ment that a waiver of residence requirements : : <br />for applicants for employment with the City : : <br />of Santa Ana receive the approval of the : : <br />Personnel Board? : NO : <br /> : : <br /> <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a copy of the records as entered on the minutes of <br />the Board of Supervisors of Orange County showing the results of <br />the canvass of the returns of said special election and absentee <br />votes cast thereat has been duly received. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council hereby <br />finds, determines and declares that the votes cast at said special <br />election for and against said propositions and the absentee ballots <br />cast for and against said propositions show the total of all votes <br />cast on each of said propositions and the total of said votes for <br />and against each of said propositions to be, and said totals are, <br />as follows: <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
